Did you notice a little addition to your regular Eat This Much diet planner this week? We only released it on the desktop version, and kept quiet about it for a few days, but it’s time to show off our latest improvement to your Eat This Much meal planning experience…
Those little “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” icons next to your meals are going to make our algorithm much smarter in the long run. While they won’t have any impact on the meals you get right now, we’ll apply what we learn (ok, more specifically, what our generator learns) from your ratings to our future AI features, making the generator much better at suggesting foods and recipes that go well together, like peanut butter and jelly.
Every time you use either the “thumbs up” to tell us you like the combination of foods in your meal, or the “thumbs down” to tell us you’re not into that combo, you’re teaching the Eat This Much generator what kind of combinations you want from it. With enough input you and other Eat This Much users, this process of machine learning will help our algorithm know whether or not it’s a good idea to suggest ceviche and hummus together for breakfast.
So go on and start clicking. The more you do, the more personalized we can make your meal suggestions. Once we get enough ratings, we’ll roll out the feature to our apps. As always, we’d love to hear from you about how we’re doing, so please shoot us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy rating!
